An alarming rise in hospitalizations for lung illness with no clear diagnosis led doctors to find ties to the use of vaping and e-cigarettes. With the average age of these patients hovering around 19 years old – and overwhelmingly male – parents, educators, researchers, and lawmakers are taking a serious look at smoking alternatives and their potentially deadly side effects.
